Côtes du Coeur is a series of events leading up to an annual fine wine auction and celebrity chef dinner held in Dallas, Texas, to benefit the American Heart Association (AHA). Sponsored by the Dallas Division of the AHA, the spring Gala is the largest of its kind in the Southwest and one of the top seven galas held nationwide for the American Heart Association. Proceeds from Côtes du Coeur go directly to the AHA for cardiovascular research and heart-health education programs. During its 18-year history, Côtes du Coeur has attracted more than 15,000 attendees and has raised more than $10.2 million. In 2009, it was the highest grossing auction nationally for the AHA. Côtes du Coeur will be held in Dallas on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at the Hilton Anatole.
Every year, the Côtes du Coeur attracts approximately 1,200 business and community leaders, wine-industry leaders, wine collectors, and physicians and members of the medical community from throughout the Southwest. Past sponsors have included the names of many prominent individuals, corporations, medical institutions and professional health-care executives.
At the gala, renowned Dallas Chef Richard Chamberlain leads 16 acclaimed chefs in the creation of a tasting menu and wine pairing from 28 elite wineries from America and abroad. Attendees experience multicourse fine dining created around a specific wine varietal for each dish. The quality of the food and wine is a key differentiator for Côtes du Coeur. In addition to the exceptional wine and food, attendees have the opportunity to purchase rare and collectible wine. The Gala features a live auction of one-of-a-kind experiences and a silent auction of more than 2,000 wines.
Momentum for the spring Gala builds during a series of smaller pre-parties and functions that begin in the fall. Each pre-Gala function aligns with Côtes du Coeur's focus on fine wines, fine dining and the mission of the AHA, to Learn and Live, building healthier lives, free of heart disease and stroke.
A key focus of the 2010 Côtes du Coeur season is a special emphasis on quality networking during the planning sessions, pre-parties and gala. These events offer multiple soft-networking opportunities for patrons to cultivate deep and meaningful business and personal relationships with senior-level executives from across the Metroplex.
The American Heart Association is proud to announce that Tim Wallace, Chairman and CEO of Trinity Industries, Inc., will serve for the second year as Chair of the 2010 Côtes du Coeur.
